ARAB 101: Introduction to Arabic Studies

The course introduces the student to the fundamentals of Modern Standard Arabic, intended to develop oral and aural proficiency, and mastery of the Arabic alphabet for rudimentary reading and writing so as to build the foundational grammar for simple sentence structure. Visual aids will be used to facilitate the development of reading and writing skills. Students will also acquire a fair understanding of the Arabs and their culture from the classical to the modern period.
