Spanish Club

The Spanish Club called “Club Hispánico” is a club created and managed by students of the Spanish Section of the Department of Modern Languages. It consists of six executive members, all students with the following positions: President, Vice president, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations and Communication Person.

 

The Spanish Club is intended to offer a meeting space where students from Spanish and also from other courses join and learn Spanish and its culture through a weekly activity program with which learning Spanish, making friends and having fun are the main targets to pursue.

 

The activities organized by the Club are:

Singing                      Tuesdays         17:30-19:00

Conversation Club     Tuesdays         17:30-19:00

Poetry                        Wednesdays    17:30-19:00

Theatre                      Thursdays        17:30-19:00

Salsa                          Fridays            17:30-19:00

 

During the Academic Year, the Club usually organizes workshops, karaoke sessions, cinema festivals, quizzes and different programs organized by the Hispanic Embassies.

All activities are run by the students and supervised by the Teaching Assistants of the section and the patron of the Club, who is usually a lecturer of the Section that guides the management of the activities and works as a link between the Hispanic Embassies, the University of Ghana and the students.

To sponsor such activities the Club sells items such as T-shirts, stickers, and notebooks with the logo of the Club to the Spanish students.
