The Department of Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in their graduate programmes:
• MSc Audiology
• MSc Speech and Language Therapy/ Speech Pathology
Primary duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
• Teach graduate courses.
• Supervise research work of graduate students.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish the results.
• Follow the code of conduct established by the University of Ghana.
• Provide services to the Department, the University and Professional Organizations when the need arises.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualification:
The applicant must:
i. Possess a PhD in Audiology or related field to teach the MSc Audiology programme.
ii. Possess a PhD in Speech and Language Therapy or related field to teach the MSc Speech and Language Therapy programme.
iii. Be able to teach and develop graduate courses in his/her area of specialization.
iv. Have a strong clinical background in Audiology or Speech and Language Therapy and related areas.
v. Have a strong research background and the ability to translate research findings into clinical practice.
vi. Be able to teach core/common courses in the department when the need arises.
For all applicants, teaching experience in a reputable university or a comparable institution will be an added advantage.
Remunerations:
The salary and conditions of service for the position are similar to what pertains in Ghanaian Public Universities.
