VACANCIES FOR ACADEMIC FACULTY

DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY AND CLASSICS

 

The Department of Philosophy and Classics, School of Arts (College of Humanities), University of Ghana invites applications for the following positions:

 

  1. Lecturer – Classics

 

Qualification:

a). A Ph.D. in Classics

b). Competence in Ancient Greek language or Latin or both at the postgraduate level.

c). Ability to conduct scholarly research at the highest level and attract a funded

research programme.

d). Show promise in research as demonstrated by publications and conference.

  1. Lecturer – Classics

b). Competence in any two of the following: Ancient Greek or Roman History, Ancient

Greek or Roman Philosophy, and Ancient Greek or Roman Literature.

c). Ability to conduct scholarly research at the highest level and attract a funded

researchprogramme.

d). Show promise in research as demonstrated by publications and conference.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

An applicant is required to submit a complete application pack to the College Secretary, College of Humanities, University of Ghana, P. O. Box LG 1173, Legon, Accra, Ghana (Hardcopy) or cohcsecretary@ug.edu.gh (Soft Copy).

The Application Pack should contain the following:

i.   Completed Academic Staff Application Form (UAB Form 1A) to be downloaded from the University’s website at www.ug.edu.gh/hrodd.

ii.   An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae supported by copies of academic and professional certificates.

iii.   Applicants’ Teaching and Research Statementof about 2,500 words (not more than five pages).

Applications should reach the College Secretary not later than the close of day on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.  However, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
