DANC 617 (ELECTIVE COURSES) : Dance and Nationalism

 This module examines how dance is used in constructing national identity. It will draw on case studies of postcolonial nations and their national dance companies. The main issues to be examined include politics of representation and cultural identity. The course equips students with the orientation of how dance can be used as a political tool in exhibiting cultural identity.
