DANC 612 (DANCE IN EDUCATION (M.PHIL)) : Form and Content of African Dance Education

This course focuses on the discussion of the sum total of what the African conceptualises as
dance and how this is packaged as an educational material. The focus will be on the structural
elements of African dance, its aesthetics, philosophies and socio-cultural background.
Students will be enlightened on the factors that may change form and content of African
Dance Education due to complexity of human interaction and structural variations in the
process.
