DANC 609 (DANCE IN EDUCATION (M.PHIL)) : Theories of Dance Education

This course considers the conceptual underpinnings of using dance as a tool for knowledge
transmission. It focuses on African definitions of knowledge and how these knowledge
bodies and values are transmitted in the various African cultures. It explores existing and
emerging theories of education and locate dance as the centre of these epistemologies.
