DANC 608 (DANCE ETHNOLOGY (M.PHIL)) : Dance and African Political Systems

This course explores the role of dance in African systems of governance through traditional
leadership. It will focus on the function of dance in ceremonial and socio-political dimensions
of African societies. The course will orient students on the knowledge embedded in these
cultural forms as index of African life.
