DANC 601 (Core) : Dance Research Methods 1

This course exposes students to the two main approaches to

dance research namely, Ethnochoreological and Anthropological

modes of enquiry. It equips students with the necessary knowledge,

skills and tools to examine dance first, as a movement system and

second, as a complex cultural phenomenon. The various techniques

under the two approaches will be examined to enrich students’

understanding of dance as an academic discipline.
