UG Vice-Chancellor Elected Vice-Chair of Worldwide Universities Network Partnership Board

In a series of high-level engagements held in Hong Kong, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Partnership Board. The events, anchored around the WUN Presidents Forum and related Partnership Board meetings, were hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
During the Presidents Forum, the Vice Chancellor delivered a compelling address on “Navigating Society’s Expectations of Universities and Meeting Obligations,” sharing insights into the University of Ghana’s approach to community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and translating impactful research into public value.
This discussion underscored the vital role of universities as civic anchors and innovation hubs in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The governance and business meetings of the WUN Partnership Board saw the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana actively contributing to strategic discussions on the future direction of the network. Engaging with global academic leaders, the Vice Chancellor emphasised the importance of strengthening research visibility and enhancing the public communication of university impact.
