Ghana High Commission in Kenya Pays Courtesy Call on the Ghanaian Contingent at the FASU Games in Nairobi, Kenya

The Ghana High Commission to Kenya has paid a courtesy call to the three Ghanaian Universities participating at the 10th Federation of African Universities Sports (FASU) Games being hosted by Kenyatta University.

The High Commission represented by Mrs. Doris Richter, Deputy High Commissioner and Mrs. Theresa Gyamfi, Minister – Counsellor/Political and Economic presented assorted fruits and drinks to the University of Ghana, University of Education, Winneba and University for Development Studies wishing all three Universities the best of success in the Games. The contingent of the three Universities numbered ninety seven (97).

On behalf of the three Ghanaian Universities, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu, the Director of Sports at the University of Ghana who facilitated the contact with the High Commission, expressed appreciation to the Commission for the visit, presentation of items and wishing the team well. This is even to be more appreciated given the fact that the High Commission, His Excellency Mr. Damptey Bediako Asare was out of town but ensured his mission did the needful.

He added it is always special when you receive such visits away from the shores of Ghana. What the high commission in Kenya did is very much appreciated and shows the way for our missions abroad to make Ghanaians feel home away from.”

So far, the three Ghanaian Universities have distinguished themselves in the Games especially in the track and field events in Athletics. More to follow in the coming days.
