Vision
Develop an excellent, world class Department to produce soil scientists who have cutting-edge scientific skills and expertise in both agricultural and non-agricultural concerns.
Objectives
- Teach students current concepts in soil and environmental resources that would enhance their competence and provide them with knowledge in changing trends in soil science globally.
- Produce top quality graduates who would excel in their fields of endeavour and impact positively on their communities.
- Conduct relevant basic and applied research to address problems, generally in Agriculture and specifically in soil and the environment in order to enhance the development of the nation.
- Provide gender sensitive and environmentally sound extension services in the management of soils and sustainable agricultural production.
- Collaborate with sister universities in Ghana and overseas in research and teaching and foster closer relationship to enhance exchange programmes for lecturers, students and technical staff.
