Dr. Abigail Adubea Mills is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, University of Ghana, Legon.

She is a Fulbright alumna, who completed a Fulbright Scholar-In-Residence (SIR) program with the School of Social Work at the University of Alabama, United States of America from January to May 2025. She is also an alumna of the Queen Elizabeth Scholars Program, having participated as a visiting scholar at the University of Calgary under the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships (Advanced Scholars) – West Africa Project from September 20, 2022, to January 20, 2023.

Dr. Abigail Adubea Mills obtained her PhD in Social Work, from the same university, with funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, under the Next Generation of Academics in Africa (NGAA) project. For over ten years, Dr. Mills has been involved in a variety of independent and collaborative research projects mainly in the fields of disability, education, and health. Some of her research projects have explored inclusive education for learners with visual disabilities in integrated/inclusive schools in Ghana; and access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information by adolescents with visual or hearing disabilities. In collaboration with some colleagues from the University of Ghana, and with funding from the Hub for Artificial Intelligence in Sexual, Maternal and Reproductive Health (HASH), she has been part of a project on utilising artificial intelligence (AI) to improve SRH outcomes for adolescents with disabilities (HASH Phases I and II).
