PROFILE
Abdulai holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Tasmania, Australia. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Agder, Norway and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Brunei, Brunei. His other qualifications are a Diploma of International Business from the University College of Oslo, Norway and a Diploma of Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. His first degree was obtained from the University of Ghana.
He has 12 years’ teaching experience at the University of Ghana where he teaches both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Examples of courses he teaches at the undergraduate level are Public Policy Making, Public Policy Process in Ghana, and Public Finance Administration. Examples of graduate level courses he teaches are Public Policy Analysis, Lobbying and Agenda Setting, and Ethics in Research & Public Policy. He has also worked as a Deputy District Coordinating Director (Public Administrator – second highest bureaucrat in the district) for six years.
His previous employment was a Deputy Coordinating Director from 1991 to 1997 at the Bosomtwe District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Ghana. Here, he was involved in the day-to- day administration of the district; speech and report writing; minute taking; data management; HRM functions: training and development; performance appraisal, manpower planning, project management, just to mention a few

C. GRANT SUPPORT
1. I collaborated with Professor Atsu Ayee and Professor Emmanuel Debrah both of the Department of Political Science, University of Ghana to win a Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) research grant of €40,000 to undertake a research on the following topic:
An Evaluation of Financing of Key Constitutional Bodies for Democratic Consolidation in Ghana: National Media Commission and National Commission on Civic Education.
2. I also collaborated with Professor Atsu Ayee and Professor Emmanuel Debrah both of the Department of Political Science, University of Ghana to undertake a research with colleagues in Kenya and Malawi on the topic:
An Assessment of Donor Proliferation and State Capacity: A Comparative Study of Ghana, Kenya and Malawi.
