STUDENT ONLINE ACADEMIC COMPLAINT PLATFORM LAUNCHED

 

The University of Ghana has launched a Student Online Academic Complaint Platform. This platform is joint initiative by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), and the University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) and Academic Affairs Directorate.

 

Delivering the opening remarks Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (ASA), touched on how useful this initiative will be to students. According to her, the purpose of the platform was to provide students with a more convenient, reliable and effective means to lodge their complaints to the UGCS and their colleges on academic issues.

 

Mr. Abdul, the Academic Affairs Committee Head in his remarks on behalf of the Student Representative Council (SRC), admonished his colleagues to use the platform strictly for academic complaints. He is discouraged students from abusing the platform.

The Student Complaint Platform is available on the ‘sts’ platform of the University. According Mr. Patrick Kuti, a member of the IT team, students will receive feedback on their complaints within five(5) working days after a complaint is filed. To a file a complaint, students must follow the steps as outlined below:

 

1. Log in to the ‘sts’ platform (https://sts.ug.edu.gh/services/)

2. Enter your Student ID & PIN

3. Click on the “Submit a Complaint” option

4. File your complaint in the space provided

5. Click on “Submit” to send your complaint(s)

 

Over two hundred (200) faculty, staff and students participated in the virtual launch. Participants witnessed how the Platform works and were also given the opportunity to ask questions.
