A USEFUL GUIDE FOR FELLOWS

Upon notification of award and provision of required supporting documents, Fellows will be matched with Cambridge-based collaborators by the CAPREx Coordinator at Cambridge based on fellow’s discipline and area of research.

Fellows may submit requests for funds on their fellowship upon confirmation of agreed fellowship duration and dates and in consultation with both UG-CAPREx and Cambridge CAPREx Coordinators.

In preparation to take up the fellowship, Fellows are required to take note of the processing of the following travel-related requests:

To be arranged by UG-CAPREx Secretariat. 600 $ Flights to be arranged by Cambridge CAPREx Coordinator upon confirmation of issuance of visa and dates.

Accommodation to be arranged by Cambridge CAPREx Coordinator at Cambridge upon confirmation of dates.

Living Expenses Advance allowance to be processed by UG-CAPREx Secretariat upon confirmation of issuance of visa and dates.

Visa Application Certificate of sponsorship and other supporting documents required for visa application to be provided by the CAPREx Office at Cambridge.
Visa Fees

To be processed by UG-CAPREx Secretariat. Fellows are required to submit receipts for all payments.

Note: CAPREx does not cover expedited visa service costs. Visa refunds or payment will not exceed USD 672.

Travel Insurance      To be arranged by UG-CAPREx Secretariat
Flights To be arranged by Cambridge CAPREx Coordinator upon confirmation of issuance of visa and dates.
Accommodation To be arranged by Cambridge CAPREx Coordinator at Cambridge upon confirmation of dates.
Living Expenses Advance living allowance to be processed by UG-CAPREx Secretariat upon confirmation of issuance of visa and dates.

Upon completion of the fellowship, Fellows must notify the UG-CAPREx Coordinator of their return via email at caprex@ug.edu.gh.

Fellows must also submit a report covering the activities undertaken during the fellowship to the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (RID) and the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs). Please take note that the report must include the following:

  1. Fellow’s expectation for the fellowship;
  2. Activities undertaken;
  3. Benefits derived/ lessons learned;
  4. Challenges encountered; and
  5. Suggestions for improvement of the CAPREx Post-Doctoral Fellowship programme.
