'A Walk with UG Alumni & Friends' Held as part of UG 75th Anniversary Activities

As part of activities marking the University’s 75th Anniversary, Alumni, members of the University community, friends, associates, and the public recently took part in a health walk and fun games on the University campus.  

The walk which was dubbed “A Walk with UG Alumni & Friends”, began with participants walking from the Athletics Oval through selected routes on campus and back to the Athletics Oval. 

There was also free medical screening to check for Hepatitis B, Blood Sugar Level, Blood Pressure, Weight, Visual Acuity and others. Participants also received a health talk on physical activity and good health and engaged in lots of fun games. 

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, in a brief remark, after the walk, commended everyone in attendance and appealed to the illustrious alumni of the University to support the various projects being undertaken in the University, especially the digitalisation projects aimed at enhancing students experience on campus. 

Prof. Clement K.I. Appah, Head, Department of Linguistics who also serves as Co-Chair of the 75th Anniversary Planning Committee, outlined the planned events for the anniversary celebrations. He also urged all alumni to participate in and support the forthcoming activities. 

The UG 75th anniversary is being celebrated on theme: ‘Nurturing Resilience; Adopting Technology, Embracing Humanism’. Following a successful launch on 30th August , 2022, a number of activities have been outlined to run till the 30th of July, 2023.
