A delegation from Zhejiang Normal University, China have paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu. The delegation, led by Prof. Pan Huiju, Vice-President of the Zhejiang Normal University was accompanied by the Chinese and Ghanaian Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana, Prof. Chu Bei Juan and Dr. Josephine Dzahene-Quarshie.
In brief remarks, Prof. Huiju, noted that the visit was to discuss partnership agreement with the University of Ghana as well as visit the Confucius Institute. He added that training of professional teachers was the core mandate of Zhejiang Normal University. He assured the Vice-Chancellor of the readiness of Zhejiang Normal University to train faculty and students in Chinese, Mathematics and Computer Science.
Prof. Pan Huiju further commended the University of Ghana for their unflinching support towards the activities and development of the Confucius Institute.

In his response, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu noted that international partnerships was in line with the University’s Strategic Plan. The Vice-Chancellor cited numerous partnerships between the University of Ghana and institutions across the globe. He was optimistic that the collaboration will be mutually beneficial, and assured Prof. Huiju of management’s support to ensure a fruitful union.
The Vice-Chancellor also seized the opportunity to commend the government and people of China for their unwavering support to Africa in providing numerous opportunities for higher education. He further called for mutual respect in ensuring enhanced relationship between the two countries and Africa as a whole.
