The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu on Friday January 8, 2021, met with the leadership of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a proposal from the students over the modular system which is expected to be rolled out in the 2020/2021 academic year among other issues.

The Acting SRC President, Mr. Kwame Amo Ntow Fianko read the petition on behalf of the students after which the Vice-Chancellor gave other members present (students, members of Senior Management as well as Heads of halls) the opportunity to react to the issues raised by the President.

During the deliberations, members of faculty present urged the student leadership not to only consider the interest of the students but also appreciate the bigger picture by taking into consideration the health and well-being of the lecturers who will be engaging them throughout the period with little or no rest, and the repercussions thereby.
