Vice Chancellor Inspects Uncompleted Building Projects on University of Ghana Campus

New College of Humanities building to be completed in November 2017

Early Friday morning, 10th February 2017, the Vice Chancellor, Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, took a campus-wide tour of on-going building projects with Mr. Charles Kofinti, Ag. Director of PDMSD; Professor Kofi Agyekum, Acting Dean of the School of Performing Arts; and  Professor Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Provost of the College of Humanities, among others.

The tour began with an inspection of the College of Humanities building. The building’s progress has been slow over the years; but a representative from PDMSD revealed that, despite financial restraints, the building would be completed by November 2017. The Vice Chancellor expressed the hope of seeing the completion of uncompleted campus buildings and also making such uncompleted buildings a priority for completion.

The new School of Performing Arts (SPA) building has had construction hold-ups, which have disrupted the construction timelines. The building is also scheduled to be completed in November 2017. Both the Humanities and SPA buildings are expected to provide state of the art facilities for students and staff, thereby ensuring that the University remains on course to realise its strategic goal of becoming a globally recognised and top-ranking university.
