University Hospital Receives Donation from Legon Lions Club

At a brief ceremony on Tuesday 29th June 2021, the Public Health Unit of the University of Ghana Hospital received a donation of gallons of liquid soap, disposable masks, two portable fumigation machines and an artwork from the Legon Lions Club.

In making the presentation, the President of the Club, Lion Alfred Quartey, stated that the donation was to assist in the hospital’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and formed part of the Club’s mission to serve its communities to impact lives positively.

Dr. Mark Frempong, Director of the University Health Services, received the donation on behalf of the Hospital. He thanked the Club for its generous support and encouraged it to continue its philanthropy. He was particularly impressed with the fumigation machines and promised to put them to good use.

Lion Dr. Kwaku Mensah Bonsu, past District Governor of the Club, led a demonstration of how the fumigation machines are operated.

At the presentation ceremony were doctors, nurses and staff of the University Hospital and representatives of the Legon Lions Club, namely, its current president; Lion Daniel Baidoo, past President; Dr. Joshua Ofori Esian, in-coming Treasurer; Lion Emmanuel Baidoo, Secretary and Lion Oliva Ewurama Arthur.
