UGAA Delegation Pays Courtesy Call on Acting Vice Chancellor

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, a delegation from the Council of the University of Ghana Alumni Association (UGAA), led by its Chairman, Mr. Richard Obeng Okrah, paid a courtesy call on the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo. The purpose of the visit was to discuss a proposal on the modernisation of lecture rooms which the Council received from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs (ASA).

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, who doubles as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ASA), expressed her profound appreciation to the delegation for the visit and reiterated her passion about addressing students’ experiences. Prof. Amfo indicated her readiness to assist the Council to achieve its mandate and strongly encouraged the University community to tell more of its positive stories.

The Chairman of Finance and Fundraising, UGAA, Mr. Felix Addo, recommended the commencement of an Endowment Fund to support the funds earmarked by the University to provide state-of- the-art and digital infrastructure for the lecture rooms.

In support of the recommendation made by Mr. Addo, the Director of the Office of Institutional Advancement, Prof. Ebo Hinson, suggested the need for the University to harmonise all its Endowments Funds.

In brief remarks, Mr. Richard Okrah reiterated the need for the University to ensure student satisfaction while they are on campus, in order to attract highly motivated alumni who will willingly contribute to the development of the University.

Present at the meeting were Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Anna Amporful, Executive Secretary, UGAA and Mrs. Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, Managing Director, PrimeTime Limited. Others were Dr. Sylvia Boye, Dr. Kojo Baah Parry, Mrs. Adelaide Mary Benneh and Mrs. Doris Ansah who are all members of University of Ghana Alumni Council.
