Students Financial Aid Office Receives Donation from Ghana Re

The University of Ghana Students Financial Aid Office has received a donation of Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis GH¢30,000.00 from Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited (Ghana Re) at a brief ceremony held at the company’s offices.

The event saw Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited present donations to the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) of the University of Ghana and other selected institutions.

In brief remarks, the Managing Director of Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited, Mr. George Mensah, noted that the donation forms part of the company's policy to set aside a percentage of its net profit after tax annually to be used as gifts and donations.  He emphasized that, the policy is to ensure promotion of goodwill and corporate trust and also enable the Ghana Reinsurance Company contribute to national worthy causes to help meet societal needs and assist the less fortunate citizens in the society.

Mrs. Christine Baning, Head, Students Financial Aid Office and a representative of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Stephen Afranie, Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Social Policy Studies (CSPS) received the donation on behalf of the University.

Dr. Stephen Afranie on behalf of the University, thanked the company for their generous support and encouraged them to continue with such good initiatives.
