The Provost of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS), Prof. Boateng Onwona-Agyeman, has handed over a 60-seater TATA bus each to the College’s three Agriculture Research Centres: the Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC), the Soil and Irrigation Research Centre (SIREC), and the Forest and Horticultural Crops Research Centre at brief ceremonies held at the respective Centres.

In his remarks, the Provost stated that the buses were procured by the University through the initiative of Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, former Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Daniel Kwadwo Asiedu, former Provost of CBAS; Prof. Daniel Bruce Sarpong, former Dean of School of Agriculture; and the then Heads of Centre. He added that, apart from the buses, a pick-up vehicle each would be presented to the Centres at a later date. He encouraged the centres to put  the buses to good use to support their work.

The Dean of School of Agriculture, Prof. Irene Susana Egyir, who received the keys to the buses on behalf of the Centres, stressed the need to ensure adequate maintenance of the buses to prolong their lifespan. The Director of the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), Mr. Charles Kofinti, shared some tips on the best way to maintain the vehicles.
