Omni Group Limited Donates to the Vice-Chancellor’s Green Team

The Omni Group Limited has donated hundred (100) bags of fertilizer to support the operations of the Vice-Chancellor’s Green Team.

In his introductory remarks, Mr. Kofi Annan-Dennis, General Manager, Omni Group Limited commended the Vice-Chancellor for the efforts he is putting into creating a conducive environment on campus. He noted that the purpose of the visit was to provide support to strengthen the effort of the Vice-Chancellor’s Green Project to protect and sustain the environment over a long period of time.

In brief remarks, Mr. James Ankrah, Operations Coordinator, Omni Group Limited disclosed that in addition to the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE’s) like nose masks to the University, it is their desire to set-up a Rapid Diagnostic Test Centre with a disinfectant booth and spray to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. He added that the Group has solutions to help combat the coronavirus through this innovative partnership.

Dr. Benjamin D. Ofori, Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) and Chair of the Vice-Chancellor’s Green Team expressed appreciation to the Group for their contribution to assist the University in maintaining a green environment.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu in his remarks, lauded the Group for their support to conserve the environment. He noted that the environment is extremely important for living and must be taken seriously especially in the disposal of waste and the preservation of natural resources, adding that, the University is a Centre for tourism and must be kept conducive.

Present at the meeting was Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, Acting Director, Office of Institutional Advancement; Mr. Charles Kofinti, Director, Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD) and Ms. Adwoa Abrokwa, Assistant Registrar, Alumni Relations Office, OIA.
