Legon Lions Club calls on the Vice-Chancellor

On Thursday 29th July 2021, members of the Legon Lions Club District 418 Zone Five Executives led by their President, Lion Prof. David Atta-Peters, called on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, to inform him of its readiness to roll out an award scheme to support the best graduating visually impaired undergraduate student.

The Vice-Chancellor lauded the Club for its support for research and services in critical areas of national interest, including diabetes awareness, vision, hunger, environment and childhood cancers. He urged the Club to publicise its activities for the general public to appreciate its good works and to attract more members. He also thanked the Legon Lions Club for its support during his tenure of office.

Lion Prof. David Atta-Peters took the opportunity to introduce newly elected executives of the Club and he decorated the Vice-Chancellor, who is an honorary member, with a Lions Club International lapel pin. The Club wished the Vice- Chancellor well in his future endeavours, as he exits office. It further pledged its commitment to take care of the trees planted as part of his greening project.
