HRODD Organises Orientation for Newly Appointed Assistant Registrars

The Human Resource and Organisational Development Directorate (HRODD) has organised a 5-day orientation session for newly appointed Assistant Registrars at the Great Hall, University of Ghana.

In a welcome address, Mr. Daniel O. Baidoo, Director of HRODD, outlined the objectives for organising the programme which was to provide participants with information and skills about their new roles.

The Registrar, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah in brief remarks, expressed her delight at the organisation of the orientation session and charged the newly appointed Assistant Registrars to be good managers of the University. She admonished them to seek for areas in the University Administration that need improvement and be ingenious to offer solutions and suggestions.

She disclosed that plans were far advanced for mentoring of the newly appointed Assistant Registrars to begin. In this regard, newly appointed Assistant Registrars would be assigned to senior colleagues who would mentor them and offer direction.

Participants were taken through Procurement Processes, Payroll Management, GUSS scheme, overview of ITS and Online Performance Appraisal for Senior Members. Facilitators of the programme were Mr. Cecil Vortia (Finance Directorate), Mrs. Rita Appiah Kubi (Logistics Directorate), Mrs. Caroline Eleanor Berko (HRODD), Mr. Vincent Acheampong (UGCS) and Mr. Patrick Kuti, (UGCS).

Mrs. Emelia Nartey, Senior Assistant Registrar, HRODD, was the co-ordinator for the programme.
