GAUA National Executives Pay Courtesy Call On Pro-VC (ASA)

On Friday, 2nd October 2020, the National Executives of Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) paid a courtesy call on the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Students Affairs), Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, following the National Executives meeting hosted by the University of Ghana.

In brief remarks, the National President of GAUA, Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu, expressed gratitude to the Pro-VC for receiving them at a short notice. He appealed to Management of the University to help explain to the government the cause of GAUA on the prevailing issue with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

In response, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor said that Management acknowledges the critical role played by GAUA in the administration of the University and assured the delegation that she would duly convey GAUA’S message to Management. She disclosed that Management was doing its best to mitigate the effects of the directive from FWSC on GAUA members.

Present at the meeting were Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah, GAUA Legon President; Madam Arhizah Blay-Abiti of the Pro-VC (ASA) Office; Ms Eccles Andoh, the Acting Director of Public Affairs; Mr. Kwame Yeboah, immediate past GAUA National President; Mr. Asamoah Boaten, immediate past GAUA General Secretary; and other national executive members of GAUA.
