Mr. Ishmael Ato Essien, Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah and Mrs. Barbara Kuukua Blankson
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), University of Ghana branch, has inducted three of its executives into new offices at a brief virtual ceremony held on August 20, 2020. The three office holders are: Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah (President), Mrs. Barbara Kuukua Blankson (Vice-President) and Mr. Ishmael Ato Essien (Secretary).
In his acceptance speech, the President of GAUA, Mr. Michael Owusu-Ansah extended his profound gratitude to the entire GAUA membership for endorsing the nomination of the new officers. He pledged the dedication of his team to the cause of GAUA, as they journey to complete the unexpired term of the current leadership, indicating that this crop of executives has a clear vision for the changes that GAUA needs. The President reiterated that the GAUA-Legon executive is committed to working assiduously with GAUA-National to resolve the concerns of the entire membership. On this note, he announced that arrangements were being made to amend the Association's Constitution in alignment with the GAUA-National Constitution which had made provisions to run the year from August to July. To facilitate its liaison with the national executives, he intimated that GAUA-Legon was also considering a proposal to host the national secretariat in its Legon office.

Mr. Owusu Ansah further encouraged the entire membership of GAUA to continuously burn their candles at both ends by bringing their rich and diverse professional skills to bear on the management of the University.
In brief remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia, congratulated the new executives and encouraged them to perform their critical role in leadership and administration of the University. Mrs. Haizel-Ashia also urged all GAUA members to continue to position themselves as managers and ensure that all the decisions they make yield positive contributions to the management of the University.
At the beginning of the proceedings, the University's Legal Counsel, Professor Olivia Anku-Tsede, administered the oath of office to the new executives after which she reminded them to acknowledge the oath as a contract between them and the Association.
