Director of Sports at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu, has been appointed to serve on the Governing Board of the International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement (ICM) under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
In a letter signed by Mrs. Ama Serwah Nerquaye-Tetteh, Secretary-General of the Ghana National Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Bitugu is expected to serve a three-year term on the Board. Mrs Nerquaye-Tetteh in the letter congratulated Dr. Bitugu on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission and expressed the Commission’s hope that Dr. Bitugu will bring his experience and expertise to further the objectives and work of the Centre and to uplift the image of Ghana and Africa.
The Commission pledged to assist Dr. Bitugu, should the need arise, in the discharge of his duties on the Board.
