Director of Internal Audit Sworn In as New President of ICAG

Ms. Sena Dake, Director, Internal Audit, has been sworn in as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education.

Dr. Adutwum assured ICAG of the Ministry’s support to continuously improve on the teaching of accountancy. He charged ICAG to consider providing bursars in public schools with certification training to enhance their expertise.

Ms. Dake who previously served as the Vice-President of ICAG, will now oversee the Institute which has been set up by government to promote the study of accountancy and regulate the entire accountancy profession and practice in the country.

Sharing her vision for the presidency, Ms. Dake stated that, she will build on the achievements of her predecessors to ensure that ICAG is noted as a strong, responsive, reputable and relevant regulator of accountancy practice in Ghana and the sub-region.

The eleven(11)-member Governing Council of ICAG which is made up of four (4) government appointees and seven (7) elected members will serve a two-year term.

Present at this ceremony were Professor Williams Abayaawien Atuilik, former President, ICAG; Mr. Benjamin Kwasi Gyasi, Chief Director of the Ministry of Education and some management members of the Ministry.
