Dental Unit Receives Ultra-Modern Dental Chair

The Dental Unit of the University Hospital received a boost to its dental equipment with the donation of an ultra-modern dental chair by an anonymous donor.   The dental chair, manufactured by A &T Medical Systems in India, was presented by Mr. Anshul Tiwari of Royal E & E Medicals, Ghana, a representative of the supplier and agent in Ghana.

The benefactor indicated that he was so impressed with the services being rendered at the Dental Unit which inspired him to make the donation.   Even though the donor insists on anonymity, his message was clear – his gratitude for the excellent services to all patients and for the professional team.  

Receiving the donation, Dr. Mark Edward Frempong, Ag. Director of the University Hospital, expressed gratitude to the anonymous benefactor and said the dental unit was one of the fast growing units of the hospital. He looked forward to the public emulating the example of the benefactor and assist they hospital grow to become an excellent medical and dental facility in the community. 

On his part, Dr. Joseph Kwasi Nimako-Boateng, Senior Dental Surgeon at the Dental Unit, said he was elated that the services rendered at the Dental Unit had caught the eye of a patient, and who in return decided to make the donation.  He said he shares the honour with the entire team of dentists, dental assistants and the entire team who he said, are very hard working. He paid glowing tribute to the benefactor, adding that the donation will motivate them to work even harder.  He said the Dental Unit also required an Ortho Pantomogram machine to help provide even better services.   The equipment enables an X-ray image of the whole mouth, including the upper and lower jaw. and teeth. It moves around the patient’s head while taking the image, thus provides a  complete ear to ear image of your mouth and teeth.

Earlier, Mrs. Stella A. Amoa, Director of Public Affairs said it came as no surprise that the Dental Unit had been “noticed “ by a patient, as indeed the professional services and excellent dentist-patient relationship at the Dental Unit was above par.   She encouraged the dental team to continue to provide services that will earn them more accolades, while bringing relief to their patients.
