Prof. Walter Allen, Director of the UCLA Capacity Building Centre, presented a succinct description of UCLA and noted potential areas of collaboration with the University of Ghana. He said it was their expectation to strengthen and enhance universities that are making impact, in spite of the challenges they face. He stated that while the projects of the Centre assist institutions with finding additional resources, they also provide support for developing strategies to effectively use resources that are already available. Prof. Allen indicated that his organisation is also concerned about how universities can interface with the communities they serve.

The Deputy Director of the Centre, Azeb Tadesse, mentioned that there was an ongoing collaboration with the Department of Teacher Education and the School of Continuing and Distance Education, both in the College of Education at the University of Ghana. She noted that the project was aimed at developing some intervention points with teachers to support online teaching and learning.

Present at the meeting were Dr. Edmund Aalangdong, a Research Associate; Ms. Pascaline Songsore, Senior Assistant Registrar, Public Affairs Directorate and Mrs. Arhizah Blay-Abiti, Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Vice Chancellor.
