Delegation from QCC Calls on the Vice-Chancellor

A delegation from Quality Control Company (QCC), a subsidiary of Ghana COCOBOD, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo. The delegation, led by Dr. Ebenezer Owusu, Board Chairman, QCC, was to officially introduce themselves to the Vice-Chancellor and bring to her attention the services they offer and their relevance to the University.

Mr. Julius Martinson, Managing Director, QCC, on behalf of the delegation offered best wishes to Prof. Amfo in her role as the Vice-Chancellor of the premier University. Enumerating the services offered at QCC, he called on Prof. Amfo to take advantage of their disinfestation services, which is one of their major services. He expressed how QCC extends its services on the local front to various institutions and noted that the disinfestation services will be at an affordable price. Mr. Martinson stressed the quality of services delivered at QCC and assured Prof. Amfo of the desired result. He was confident that the disinfestation exercise will help control pest invasion and provide a peaceful environment for activities on campus.

Mr. George Oppong, Deputy Director, Human Resource, QCC, revealed QCC’s role in training and the availability of internship opportunities for students to enhance the practicality of their studies. He expressed hope for a continuous relationship and collaboration with the University of Ghana.

Prof. Amfo expressed gratitude to the delegation for their visit. Noting that the University of Ghana is trying to put in place an internship policy that will ensure that students have practical experience before they graduate, she was happy to hear about the availability of training opportunities and internships made known by QCC. “We are excited when industries see us as partners”, she added.

She conveyed her delight in the ongoing relationship and the mutual benefit that will be derived from it. She noted her confidence in the University strengthening its relationship with QCC

The Director of Public Affairs, Mrs. Elizier T. Ameyaw-Buronyah, in brief remarks, expressed joy in the collaboration and hoped the internship programme would sharpen the skills of students.

Mr. Samuel Saka Boateng, Deputy Managing Director, QCC was also present at the meeting.
