Delegation from Association of African Universities Pays Courtesy Call on the Vice-Chancellor

A delegation from the Association of African Universities (AAU), led by Prof. Olusola B. Oyewole, Secretary General, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo.

Introducing the purpose of the visit, Prof. Oyewole, in brief remarks indicated that AAU looked forward to more collaborations with the University on mutually beneficial projects and was ready to support the University of Ghana in all her endeavours. He also extended hearty congratulations to Prof. Amfo for making the women on the continent proud by her appointment to the high office of Vice-Chancellor.

The Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed the delegation, and congratulated Prof. Olusola B. Oyewole, as the newly appointed Secretary General of the AAU. Noting the long-standing relationship between the University and AAU, Prof. Amfo underscored the importance of both parties supporting each other. “We are seeking to upscale our services for our students, improve our IT infrastructure so that we can deliver on our mandate, so we’ll need each other to build capacity and to be efficient and effective”, the Vice-Chancellor stated. She further pledged to continue to sustain the existing flourishing relationship between the University and AAU.

The AAU delegation included Ms. Nodumo Dhlamini, Director ICT Services, Communications & Knowledge Management; Mrs. Yvette Quarshie, Human Resources and Administration Manager and Mr.Ransford Bekoe, Television Manager, AAU Television.

Also present at the meeting was Mrs. Elizier T. Ameyaw-Buronyah, Director, Public Affairs Directorate.
