Colombian Ambassador to Ghana Calls on The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana

Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero having a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, received Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero, Ambassador of Colombia to Ghana, at his office on Monday 15th January 2018. Discussion centred on educational relationships through student and faculty exchanges and internship programmes.

Ambassador Claudia Turbay Quintero was positive about helping to strengthen educational ties and announced that the rector of the University of Rosario, Rector Jose Manuel Restrepo, will be visiting the University of Ghana in February 2018 to interact with faculty and deliver a lecture. Ambassador Quintero suggested inviting to Ghana Professor Emmanuel Ponce de Leon, who is an internationally recognized psychologist to deliver a special lecture alongside Rector Jose Manuel Restrepo.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oduro Owusu, warmly welcomed the ambassador and was delighted that both sides have a desire to strengthen the relationship between Columbia and Ghana as well as forge sustainable collaboration between the universities of Ghana and Rosario. The Vice-Chancellor assured the ambassador of the university’s readiness for the visit of the Rector Ponce de Leon.

Present at the meeting were Professor Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Provost of the College of Humanities; Ms Eccles Andoh, Assistant Registrar of Public Affairs Directorate; and Miss Afi Sefakor Mensa of the Colombia Embassy.
