College of Education Meets with Affiliated Colleges of Education

The Acting Provost of College of Education (COE), Prof. Martin Oteng-Ababio, has held a meeting with the principals of the six Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Ghana.

The purpose of the meeting was for the Provost and the newly appointed College leadership to meet, interact and familiarise themselves with the representatives of the affiliated Colleges of Education. The meeting was also organised to serve as a platform for both teams to discuss issues of common interest on conference marking and the promotion of principals and tutors.

Welcoming the team, Prof. Martin Oteng-Ababio, expressed his appreciation to the team for honouring his invitation. He assured the Principals of the six Colleges of Education of excellent working relationship and solicited their support in raising teacher training education  standards.

Acting College Secretary, Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah

In brief remarks, the Acting College Secretary, Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah  indicated that the promotion procedures for tutors in the Colleges had been considered by Senior Management of the University and had been prepared for further attention by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). The College would also collaborate with the affiliate Colleges to develop the criteria for the promotion of principals. 

Acting Dean, Prof. Gordon S.K. Adika

Also present at the meeting were Prof. Gordon S.K. Adika, Acting Dean, School of Education and Leadership (SEL); Mr. Eric Acheampong, Acting School Administrator and Dr. Abraham K. Okrah, Acting Co-ordinator, B.Ed. Programme, SEL.

The  six principals present were Dr. Samuel A. Atintono, Accra College of Education; Dr. Dickson Tsey, E.P. College of Education, Amedzofe; Mr. Philip Ntaah, Enchi College of Education; Dr. Musah Halidu, Gbewaa College of Education;  Dr. Cecilia Esinam Agbeh, Mount Mary College of Education and Dr. Ebenezer Appah Bonney, Peki College of Education.
