Centre for Migration Studies and Consortium Partners Awarded Research Grant

The Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana and its consortium partners have been awarded a DKK 10, 218, 791 (approximately 1.5 Million US Dollars)  grant by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark to implement the project titled “Governing Climate Mobility” for a period of 4 years.

The beneficiary institutions are: Danish Institute for International Studies as the consortium lead; Forum for Social Studies, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana.

The project aims to explore climate mobility in Ghana and Ethiopia, from the perspective of the household and of the institutions that directly or indirectly influence the households’ socio-economic conditions.  Quantitative and qualitative methods will be employed to examine how differing government contexts, local and national, affect adaptive climate mobility.
