CEGENSA Pays a Courtesy Call on Acting Vice-Chancellor

The Director, Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA), Prof. Charlotte Wrigley Asante, has led a team from CEGENSA to pay a courtesy call on the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo. Their visit was to congratulate her on her appointment as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and to assure her of their support. Prof. Wrigley Asante also presented some challenges faced by the Centre and solicited the needed support to enable the CEGENSA to achieve its mandate.

Welcoming the team, the Acting Vice-Chancellor expressed her appreciation for the visit and stressed the University’s commitment to achieving its Strategic Priorities, with particular emphasis on the fourth priority which deals with Gender and Diversity. Prof. Amfo also assured the team of the University’s unflinching support towards the activities of the Centre. She disclosed that there were plans of mentoring young women to reach greater heights and achieve their dreams.

Present at the meeting were affiliates of CEGENSA who were made up Prof. Akosua Adomako-Ampofo, Prof. Esther Sakyi-Dawson, Prof. Margaret I. Amoakohene,  Prof. Lydia Aziato, Prof. Agnes Budu, Dr. Deborah Attobrah and Ms. Ama Pinkrah.

Other officials present were Mrs. Arhizah Blay-Abiti, Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Edward Gborgbo, Principal Research Assistant, CEGENSA; Mr. Daniel Abusuampeh, Graduate Assistant, CEGENSA; and Mrs. Elfreda Bansah, Chief Administrative Assistant, CEGENSA.
