MASC 446: Tropical Marine Ecosystems

This course shall cover broad tropical marine and coastal ecosystems such as Coral Reefs, Seagrasses, Wetlands including estuaries, lagoons, and mangroves; shores (muddy, sandy and rocky), beach rocks, sand dunes etc.  Distinguishing features of the coasts. Ecosystem services and values. Anthropogenic threats to some key marine ecosystems, Adaptations of organisms changes and impacts such as climate change, pollution and habitat degradation. Special case studies of anthropogenic impacts on some tropical marine ecosystems and recovery.
