Procedure For Filing An Appeal With The Appeals Board And Complaint Of Any Act Of Corruption Or Corrupt Practice

The Office of Legal Counsel wishes to inform the University Community of the procedures to be adopted in filing an appeal and reporting acts of corruption as provided under the Rules and Regulations of the University.  

1. Filing an Appeal – Rule 10 of The Appeals Board Rules, 2018

An appeal regarding or in connection with;

  1. acts or omissions in contravention of The University of Ghana Act, 2010 or the Statutes enacted by council;
  2. breach of employment contracts by the University;
  3. the promotion of persons duly employed by the University; 
  4. grievances by students against the University on matters related to welfare and discipline; or
  5. any other matter or dispute referred to the Appeals Board by Council;

 may be filed with the Secretariat of the Appeals Board at The Office of the Registrar, University of Ghana, Legon  using the forms contained in the Appeals Board Rules APPEALS BOARD RULES (1) new-compressed.pdf (ug.edu.gh).    

 

2. Filing a Corruption Complaint – Policy No. 2100 (5.1) of the Financial Regulations and Governance Policy, 2020 or the Anti-Corruption Policy, 2020

The Anti-Corruption Committee (the Committee) encourages the University Community, persons who operate within the University, as well as third parties to report acts of corruption and/or corrupt practices or the likelihood of acts of corruption and/or corrupt practices.  The Committee is committed and shall protect the anonymity of any person who files such complaints.

To this end, the Committee has established the following procedures for filing such complaints:

  1. Fill-out the complaint form attached to this notice.
  2. Provide particulars/details of the acts of corruption or corrupt practice or its likelihood on a separate sheet.
