The International Programmes Office welcomes you to the University of Ghana, Ghana's premier university and one of Africa’s most prestigious universities. Our university is well-recognized as a centre of excellence all over the world. The university was established more than 60 years ago and has trained more than 40,000 graduates who are at the helm of affairs in Ghana and many parts of the world. Currently the student population is about 30,000 with over 1,000 international students every year.
Our university offers a lot in the way of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Students, faculty, University Administration and academic support staff are all very supportive, and the wider Ghanaian society is warm and hospitable. Over the years, our international students have come to love our institution and this unique country and have made it their second home.
