Prof. Perpetua Sekyiwa Dadzie is an Associate Professor of Information Science at the Department of Information Studies. She obtained her Ph.D in Information Science from the University of South Africa, MPhil, Post Graduate Diploma and B.A from the University of Ghana. She has been teaching at the Department of Information Studies since 2006 and her areas of expertise include Information Sources, Marketing of Information Services and Public Relations. She was the University Librarian from 2016-2021, Head of Department (Information Studies 2013-2015), Chairperson, Radio Univers (2014-2018), Chair of the College of Education Appointment Committee for Senior/Junior Staff (2016-2021). Prof. Dadzie currently serves on the Academic Board, Graduate Studies Board and Joint Examiners Board. She is the Managing Editor of the Ghana Library Journal.
Prof. Dadzie has participated extensively in many conferences both local and international and has also published widely in reputable journals. Her areas of research interest include digital libraries, information literacy, information ethics and libraries and the UN 2030 Agenda.
Prior to her employment at the University of Ghana, Prof. Dadzie was a practising librarian having worked in libraries in Ghana, Honduras and Jamaica. She also served two terms as President of the Ghana Library Association from 2012 -2016 and was also a member of the IFLA Africa section Committee from 2015-2017.
