Objectives and Vision:

The graduate programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenge of managing information as a key strategic resource and to help them consolidate their professional roles and plan for future career development. Information management is a growth area for career opportunities as information and knowledge are recognised as the new engine for growth for the public and private sectors. Thus the specific objectives of the graduate programmes are: 

• Provision of the necessary theoretical basics and practical capacities required for developing advanced information services 
• Preparing qualified individuals for professional careers in library, archives and other information related disciplines 
• Producing competent information professionals who can facilitate the flow of information in a rapidly changing society. 
• Preparing candidates to provide information and knowledge services in an information technology intensive environment.  
• Training knowledge workers in the continuous evaluation and development information services
