Fieldwork
Level 400 students led by Prof Kwadwo Owusu visited and interacted with smallholder farmers in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region. This offered the students in Climate and Society class practical learning opportunity in the field about the impacts of climate change on smallholder pawpaw production. Students field report numerated the many climatic and non-climatic factors which included increased rainfall variability, intense sunshine and increased temperatures attributed to climate change as well as poor market for harvest. Deforestation was reported by the farmers as a major cause of climate change at the community level.
