VACANCIES FOR ACADEMIC FACULTY

 

DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY AND CLASSICS

 

The Department of Philosophy and Classics, School of Arts (College of Humanities), University of Ghana invites applications for the following positions:

 

  1. Lecturer – Philosophy of Gender

 

Qualification:

a). A Ph.D. in Philosophy

b). Competence in Philosophy of Gender

c). Ability to conduct scholarly research at the highest level and attract a funded

research programme

d.) Show promise in research as demonstrated by conference presentations and/or

     publications, as well as strong endorsement by referees.

e). Ability to teach either Philosophy of Culture or Philosophy of Development will be an added advantage

 

  1. Lecturer – Moral Philosophy

 

Qualification:

a). A Ph.D. in Philosophy

b). Competence in Moral Philosophy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels

c). Ability to conduct scholarly research at the highest level and attract a funded

      research programme

d). Show promise in research as demonstrated by conference presentations and/or

     publications, as well as strong endorsement by referees.

e). Ability to teach either Kantian Philosophy or Metaphysics will be an added advantage

 

 

  1. Lecturer – Metaphysics and Epistemology

 

Qualification:

a). A Ph.D. in Philosophy

b). Competence in Metaphysics or Epistemology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels

c). Ability to conduct scholarly research at the highest level and attract a funded

      research programme

d). Show promise in research as demonstrated by conference presentations and/or

     publications, as well as strong endorsement by referees.

e). Ability to teach undergraduate logic will be an added advantage

 

 

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION

An applicant is required to submit a complete application pack to the College Secretary, College of Humanities, University of Ghana, P. O. Box LG 1173, Legon, Accra, Ghana (Hardcopy) or  cohcsecretary@ug.edu.gh (Soft Copy).

The Application Pack should contain the following:

i.   Completed Academic Staff Application Form (UAB Form 1A) to be downloaded from the University’s website at www.ug.edu.gh/hrodd.

ii.   An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae supported by copies of academic and professional certificates.

iii.   Applicants’ Teaching and Research Statementof about 2,500 words (not more than five pages).

CLOSING DATE

Applications should reach the College Secretary not later than the close of day on Friday, April 28, 2023.  However, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
