Job Opening: Recruitment of Research Officer-School of Public Health, University Of Ghana


The School of Public Health, University of Ghana is looking to recruit a Research Officer who will work with a dynamic team of faculty to conduct research on making health insurance responsive to needs of citizens.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will:

· Undertake the day-to-day administration of the WHO-NHISRESP project,

· Organize (physical and virtual) meetings and harmonize the activities of the project,

· Lead and take responsibility for organizing specialized activities such as workshops and conferences, etc.

· prepare interview questions/guides.

· Train research assistants,

· Collect and analyse data

· Conduct literature reviews,

· Publish scientific work and results,

· Prepare progress reports,

· Lead in writing of the project reports,

· Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you.


Required Qualification/experience: A Master degree in Health Economics, Economics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Sociology and other related fields.

In addition, the applicant must:

· Have excellent written and oral communication skills

· Have attention to detail

· Critical thinking

· Demonstrate clear leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision

· Skill in Statistical and Graphical Analysis of Data

· Having both quantitative and qualitative skills, the use of STATA, SPSS and QSR Nvivo is an added advantage.

· Familiar with social protection policies

Duration: 12 months and subject to renewal
