• The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship, an Australian Government Scholarship for Ph.D. studies at The Sydney University, Australia from 2003-2007.
• DAAD Scholarship to undertake a two-year M.Phil. in Entomology Programme at the University of Ghana, Legon from 1997-1999.
• The Pioneer Tobacco prize for 1st Class Hons degree in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1993/94.

Research Interest

My research interest spans insecticide resistance monitoring in field (particularly vegetables) crops and stored grains and resistance management. I am also interested in the assessment of useful botanicals in the management of field and stored product insect pests.

Current Research Projects

• Screening genotypes of maize and cowpea against major field and storage pests.
• Determination of the distribution, abundance and establishment of baseline data to monitor resistance to pesticides of the Fall armyworm (FAW) infesting maize
• Maize farmers’ knowledge and perception of fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) its management and varietal preferences
• Evaluation of Black soldier fly larvae rearing methods and termite utilization and the development of simple systems for use by smallholder farms and small-scale production units using waste produced in Ghana

• Efficacy trials of biopesticieds on a wide range of insect pests and diseases of vegetables in view of registration and commercialization (Funded by The Real IPM Company (K) Ltd.)
• Africa STDF Project on Pesticide Residue Data Generation (Funded by Tropical Fruit Global Residue Program)
• Producing more by waiting less: Management of prostephanus truncatus (HORN) in stored maize using beauveria bassiana (BALS.) (Funded by Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation [grant number OPP1052676] with support from Exosect-U.K., Agrauxine-France, CABI/Europe-U.K. and CABI/WA)
