Mrs. Christy Badu

Deputy Registrar

(Acting Director, Academic Affairs).


Mrs. Christy Badu had her secondary education at the Achimota School and holds a BA degree in Social Sciences from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.  She also holds an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from the Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University, UK.


Mrs Badu joined the University of Ghana in August, 2000 and has served the University in several capacities including: being the first Assistant Registrar in the newly created International Programmes Office from 2000 to 2005, Senior Assistant Registrar (Admissions Officer) in charge of Admissions in the Academic Affairs Directorate, from February, 2005 to August, 2010.


In September 2010, she was transferred to the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) as the Administrative Secretary, until January 2014 when she was appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to serve as the Foundation College Secretary, to assist the Provost to establish the newly created College of Education.


In December, 2014, Mrs. Christy Badu joined the University of Ghana Carnegie Project Team as the Coordinator for the Carnegie sponsored Accelerated PhD Training through University of Ghana-Diasporan Linkages Project (APT-Ghana Project), and was responsible for ensuring the implementation of the various components of the Project.


Until her appointment as Acting Director to the Academic Affairs Directorate, Mrs. Christy Badu was the Head of the Alumni Relations Office, an office she was tasked to set up in 2017, as part of the Institutional Advancement Office.


She was also until recently the 16th Warden of Volta Hall, having served the Hall in that capacity from May, 2016 to October, 2018.
