The course entails a survey of basic statistical methods as tools for data analysis in communication research. Measures of central tendency, dispersion, association and difference are discussed in the context of descriptive and inferential analysis. The prerequisites for various statistical measures and their application to communication, (including precision journalism) are also identified in the course.
